Amazon Cargo Plane Crash at Miami Airport: Five Lives Lost
An Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 cargo flight arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, overshot the runway while landing at Miami International Airport in the United States. The plane ran off the runway and struck several vehicles on a nearby road, causing severe damage.

The aircraft caught fire almost immediately, sending thick black smoke into the sky. Rescue workers pulled the pilot and copilot from the cockpit, where they had been trapped. Several people were also trapped inside the vehicles that were struck by the plane.

At least five people were killed in the crash, three were critically injured, and two others sustained injuries. Firefighters worked to control a fuel leak from the aircraft.

The aircraft was 32 years old. It originally flew as a passenger plane before being converted for cargo operations in 2015. It was operated on Amazon's behalf by a cargo airline called "21 Air."

According to flight-tracking data, the plane was traveling at roughly 112 knots when it left the usable portion of the runway. The exact reason it failed to stop and lost control remains unclear. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident.
